Wow! Hasn’t the recent weather been wild? One day, the wind was howling, kicking up sand from West Texas. Before that, it was strong enough to knock down trees, even tearing large branches off the old pines at Community Forever Village.
As I watched the wind’s power, I was reminded of God’s presence. Sometimes, He is like a soft, gentle breeze—comforting and reassuring. Other times, He moves like a fierce storm, shaking everything in His path. How can God be both—a whisper and a whirlwind?
It’s a question that leads to even bigger ones: Why do some people live in mansions while others have no home at all? Why does goodness flourish in some hearts while evil takes root in others?
I don’t have all the answers. But I do know this—God is infinitely good. He desires good for each of us. He is always present, waiting for us to turn to Him. And He has given us the ability to act—to be His hands and feet in this world.
We can be that gentle breeze of encouragement to someone who is struggling. We can be a force of change, standing up for the defenseless. We can give from what we have—our time, our resources, our love—so that others might see His goodness even in life’s hardest moments.
I may not be able to change everything, but I can do something. And so can you.
Will you join me?
